Terms and Conditions of the Global SME Finance Forum 2020 event

These terms and conditions (these “Terms”) govern your registration for and participation in the Global SME Finance Forum 2020 (the “Event”) and are an agreement between the SME Finance Forum, managed by IFC, member of the World Bank Group ("SMEFF," "we," "us," or "our") and you.
EVENT
You may only register for and attend the Event in accordance with these Terms. To register for the Event, you must complete the Event registration process. Sharing your registration with another person(s) is a violation of the Code of Conduct and may result in your access to the event being terminated.
AGE LIMITATION
Attendees must be 18 years of age on the first day of the Event to attend this event and all related events.
PHOTOGRAPHY, AUDIO AND VIDEO RECORDING
By attending this event, you acknowledge and agree that SMEFF has the right to use, reproduce, broadcast, rebroadcast, or incorporate in any manner whatsoever, all or any portion of photographs and/or videos of you or your participation in the Event for use in marketing materials and/or training materials and for internal use (“Materials”). You irrevocably, grant, transfer, and assign a nonexclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty free right and license to SMEFF, if any, in and to the Materials and all copyrights in the Materials arising in any jurisdiction throughout the world, including the right to register and sue to enforce such copyrights against infringers. You understand that the Materials may be substantially edited, altered, rearranged or modified. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you hereby waive any moral rights you may have in the Materials.
THIRD PARTY PROMOTIONS
Exhibitors and Sponsors may choose to run their own promotions, including competitions or giveaways, from their virtual booth. Collectively, the SME Finance Forum or IFC cannot accept liability for any such third-party promotion.
Please note: If you are an exhibitor, you will have received terms and conditions for purchasing a booth at the time of confirmation. Depending on the expo hall you booked to exhibit, you will either have received the event terms and conditions by email.
LEAD RETRIEVAL
By allowing an exhibitor and/or sponsor to receive your contact information throughout the event, you are opting-in to receiving communications from that entity. You will be subject to their communications and privacy policy and must opt-out with them directly.
INFORMATION
SMEFF may collect, manage and share your information in accordance with SMEFF's Privacy Policy (https://www.smefinanceforum.org/privacy) and all applicable data privacy laws and regulations.
By confirming your registration to the Global SME Finance Forum, you agree to allow the organizers to contact you as and when required for the administration of the Global SME Finance Forum, for example, to let you know we have gone live with an event or to notify you about a service change. We may also notify you of updates and offers along the way, based on the interests that you submitted on the registration form.
We will comply with our Privacy Policy with respect to your preferences and you will have the option to unsubscribe, this option can be found at the bottom of our emails. If you consented upon registration, some of your details may be provided to exhibitors which you have shown an interest in. If you are unsure about this, or if you wish to withdraw this consent after registration, please email to smefinanceforum@ifc.org prior to the closing of a live event. CODE OF CONDUCT
We invite you to attend the Global SME Finance Forum 2020 event with an open mind and an open heart, and to exhibit a friendly, kind, and respectful attitude at all times. Harassment of any form will not be tolerated.
By participating in event, you agree to do so only for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes. You also agree to abide by the World Bank’s Terms of Service, described here and which you should review prior to attending. This includes but is not limited to the following requirements:
No aggressive pushing of your own services, products, and causes.
You may not collect or store personal information about anyone. This includes any form of invasion of privacy, taking screenshots of conversations, or posting personal details about any participant without their permission.
You also may not:
Be disruptive, threaten anyone, or engage in intimidating, harassing, abusive, stalking, profane, demeaning, discriminatory, defamatory, or derogatory speech or otherwise violate the legal rights of any participants, including their rights of privacy and publicity.
Post any infringing, obscene, indecent, or unlawful material or information in written comments, photographs or visual images, audio, or video.
Use words or actions that constitute sexual harassment, homophobia, racism, bigotry, religious discrimination, or any other behavior that discriminates against a group or class of people.
Consequences for code of conduction violations:
IFC has the sole discretion to identify and address any and all violations of this policy as it deems appropriate, including but not limited to warning the offender, denying the offender access to the event, or removing the offender from the event.
How to report an incident
If, while at an IFC virtual event, you have been involved in or witnessed an incident that violates the Code of Conduct, please contact at smefinanceforum@ifc.org as soon as possible. If you do so, please share as much information as possible about the incident to allow us to thoroughly investigate the matter.
The Terms and Conditions may be revised at any time by SMEFF and the terms are non-negotiable.
VIEWS
The views expressed by any event attendee, speaker, exhibitor or sponsor are not necessarily those of SMEFF. All event attendees, speakers, exhibitors and sponsors are solely responsible for the content of any and all individual or corporation presentations, marketing collateral, advertising and online Web content.
DISCLAIMER
SMEFF will provide You online access to and use of the Event via the Internet by use of a attendee-provided browser. You are solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining at its own expense, all equipment needed to access the Event, including but not limited to Internet access and adequate bandwidth.
USE OF OR CONNECTION TO THE INTERNET PROVIDES THE OPPORTUNITY FOR UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTIES TO CIRCUMVENT SECURITY PRECAUTIONS AND ILLEGALLY GAIN ACCESS TO THE EVENT AND CUSTOMER DATA. ACCORDINGLY, SMEFF CANNOT AND DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE PRIVACY, SECURITY OR AUTHENTICITY OF ANY INFORMATION TRANSMITTED OVER OR STORED IN ANY SYSTEM CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET.
STATEMENT OF LIABILITY
Except where prohibited by applicable law, SMEFF does not bear any legal liability or responsibility for the safety of any attendee participating in this event. SMEFF disclaims any liability for the acts of any outside entities related to this event. SMEFF reserves the right to cancel the event without liability.
Views expressed by speakers are their own and are not representative of the organizers. Collectively, the SME Finance Forum or IFC disclaim all liability for advice or information given or views expressed during an event. Any materials distributed online are intended for information only and should not be relied upon.
Each attendee shall be personally responsible for his/her behavior. The organizers do not accept responsibility for the behavior of any attendee or outside entity during the event. SMEFF shall not be liable for any delays or failure in performance or interruption of services resulting directly or indirectly from any cause or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of SMEFF including but not limited to, acts of God, war, terrorism, failure of transportation, weather, accidents, fires, electrical failures, strikes, labor disputes, postal delays, explosions, and government orders or regulations.
Attendees at this event agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SMEFF, its officers, directors and agents, against all claims arising out of actions or omissions of attendee at or in connection with this event. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you (for yourself, your heirs, dependents, personal representatives, assigns, and anyone else who might make a claim on your behalf or as a result of your death or injury) hereby release SMEFF, and their respective directors, officers, employees, contractors, representatives, agents, successors, and assigns, from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, suits, damages, losses, debts, liabilities, costs and expenses (including without limitation reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs) that you may have now or in the future associated in any way with the Event or the Materials.
Except where prohibited by applicable law, SMEFF disclaims any and all direct, special, consequential, incidental, punitive or other indirect damages of any kind whether alleged as a breach of contract or tortious conduct, including negligence, or based on any other cause of action.
If applicable, SMEFF reserves the right to substitute an equally qualified speaker in case of an emergency or cancellation. SMEFF has no duty with respect to presenters, exhibitors or sponsors, and makes no endorsements of any presentation or product.
Any dispute between SMEFF, or IFC, member of the World Bank Group, or any of its member institutions, and you arising out of, or in connection with, the Site or your use of the Site which cannot be amicably settled between the parties to such dispute shall be arbitrated in accordance with the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association then in effect by one arbitrator appointed in accordance with those rules. The arbitration shall take place in the District of Columbia. Any resulting arbitration decision shall be final and binding on both parties. Judgment upon any arbitration award in favor of The World Bank Group may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. The World Bank Group Terms and Conditions and the relationship between you and The World Bank Group shall be governed by the laws of the District of Columbia as an agreement wholly performed therein without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Registering to attend this event acknowledges acceptance of these terms and provisions of registration.
